Church Architect William Henry Harris & Associates moves to Church Road!

Exciting things are happening at William Henry Harris & Associates, Inc. and we want to share some important news with you.

After 28 years in downtown Richmond, we have relocated our offices to Richmond's West End. We are  located at 3307 Church Road, just off Three Chopt Road near Innsbrook.  Our new offices feature updated conference spaces with the latest technology for client meetings and plenty of parking.  We moved from our 412 West Franklin Street location on June 2nd and we look forward to providing our clients with the superior planning and design services to which they have become accustomed.

Salisbury Dedicates New Education Wing at 50th Anniversary Celebration!

Rain did not dampen Salisbury Presbyterian Church's 50th Anniversary Celebration and dedication of its new Pre-School Wing addition on Saturday, April 25th, 2015.

Pastor Larry Chottiner led the gathered celebrants in the dedication ceremony. A congregational dinner for the 400 attendees followed the ceremony in the "Big Tent".

William Henry Harris & Associates, Inc has worked with the church for more than four years on the project. Century Construction served as General Contractor for the project.

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church Nave prepares for another century!

Contractors excavate to provide new subfloor duct chases for a modern Heating and Cooling system. The $9 million project will add state of the art acoustically tempered and digitally controlled Mechanical and Electrical systems to replace aging systems from the 1940's and 1950's. 

The Sanctuary interior will be refurbished and all entrances will become handicap accessible.  Lighting and audiovisual enhancements will complete the project that is scheduled for completion in December.

Good Shepherd Catholic Church is underway!

Good Shepherd Catholic Church in South Hill, VA, is moving quickly to complete Phase 3 of their multi-phase expansion/renovation project. 

The Phase 3 portion of their Master Plan includes the renovation of their original Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall wing, into a new Parish Center for the church's Christian Education programs with a special focus on its Spanish-speaking members. 

The $350,000 project is on schedule to be complete by mid-June of this year. JE Burton Construction Company, Inc. of South Boston, VA is the General Contractor for the project. 

Good Shepherd Catholic Church Breaks Ground!

Good Shepherd Catholic Church in South Hill, VA, broke ground on February 2, 2015, for Phase 3 of their multi-phase expansion/renovation  project.  The Phase 3 portion of their Master Plan includes the renovation of their original Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall wing, constructed when the church was first established at this site. 

The renovated wing will include new classroom space and new accessible bathrooms for the church's Christian Education programs with a special focus on its Spanish-speaking members.  New heating and air-conditioning systems will be part of the project upgrades along with a new sacristy and office for the parish priest.

The $350,000 project is scheduled to be complete by mid-June of this year.

Christmas at Elk Hill

"My Christmas Wish is that everyone can celebrate Christmas with their family!" "Thank you Elk Hill for helping me change my life and be with my family this Christmas!" Youngsters  in the Elk Hill Farm programs and schools shared these wishes at the annual Christmas celebration held in the W. E. Singleton Chapel on December 18th.

As residents, students, faculty, staff, families, board members and friends gathered to celebrate the successes of the central Virginia institution that has helped so many youth throughout Virginia, " helping kids and families find courage"  had a special meaning.  A Christmas feast followed the Chapel  service in the Brown Dining Hall with a special visit from Santa, his elves and a Snow Queen on roller skates.

Salem Baptist Church Takes Shape!

The new 26,000 square foot Worship Center for Goochland County's Salem Baptist Church takes shape as a lull lifts wood plywood roof sheathing in place over the future worship space.  With volunteer Christian builders, the new facility, should soon be under roof.  Participants in the church's Bethlehem Walk celebration should see the roof close to being completely dried in.

As one of the largest SteelLite building projects,  the new facility illustrates the benefits of pre-engineered construction to save hundreds of thousands of dollars in construction cost.   Where there is God's will, God will make a way!
